#MySmallStep – Neha 1

We believe that #OneSmallStep is all it takes to make a change in the world. One step towards a conscious living will be kinder to the planet and to the future generations. We also believe that anyone taking steps towards a greener living, no matter how small, should be celebrated.

In this series, we will be covering inspirational stories from the OneGreeners tribe. We love learning from our tribe and adopting their green practices into our lives. Read on and get inspired.

Neha Gahlaut – Co-founder, OneGreen

Neha is a working mother of two. Her journey into greener and more conscious living started three years back. Her kids were a huge driving force for this transition. Though she had already made a few changes in the past few years, she had gotten more proactive in the recent past.

Neha, along with her husband, started reading up more, dug a little deeper to understand what and how they can bring green changes in their lives that sustain over time. The first switch started with food. Processed food, sugar and refined flour (maida) were eliminated and small switches were made such as substituting sugar with jaggery, maida with oats, ragi and wheat flour. She also chose safe and chemical-free baby care products such as cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers.

Other changes Neha and her family made in their everyday life were opting for bucket baths instead of showers, switching out plastic lunch boxes with steel ones, and replacing all the plastic bottles with steel and glass bottles. Flower agarbattis, rash free sanitary pads, bamboo toothbrushes, bamboo combs, and cloth bags also found a permanent spot in their house. Neha and her family are constantly looking at different ways they can incorporate greener habits.

Ever since Neha made the switch, she has become more mindful and conscious. Every purchase is well thought through so that they align with her goals.

We are excited to see her family taking one small step towards greener and conscious living.
